Stavroula Spanou was born in Athens in 1985. She is a graduate of the Music School of Ilion and a graduate of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of EKPA.
At the age of eight, he started playing the santouri with the master teacher Nikos Kalaitzis (Bidayialas) and later with Tasos Koulouris. She was awarded the 2nd prize in the santouri at the Panhellenic Music Competitions of the Ministry of Education in 1999. He holds a Diploma in Byzantine Music, a Degree in Harmony and a Degree in Counterpoint and has attended Greek Traditional Music Theory courses with Nikos Grapsas and Christos Tsiamoulis.
Stavroula Spanou has collaborated as a musician with various musical groups in Greece and abroad, participating in concerts, events, festivals, seminars, television and radio shows as well as in discography. She was a member of various musical groups while she has collaborated with great Greek musicians such as Vassilis Saleas and Yiannis Markopoulos.
Her involvement in teaching began in 2002. Until 2014 she worked as a teacher of santouri and musical ensembles at Music Schools in Attica, while from 2014 until today she works in primary education as a Music Education teacher. Since 2012 she has been working with the Scholeion Psaltikis teaching santouri, while for two years she was in charge of the School’s childrens’ orchestra.
